Practice

It was 10 o’clock.  It                     (rain) outside.

We                    (read) our books in the living room, and our 9-year-old twins                     (sleep) quietly in their bedroom. 

My husband                      (make) a cup of tea and I                        (eat) some cookies. Our cats                      (play) inside and our dog                          (bark). It was a normal evening.
